Red Caboose Motel was started in 1969 by Don Denlinger. He continued added to his collection of train cars over the years, and Red Caboose Motel & Restaurant became a fun, family oriented Pennsylvania lodging offering the chance to sleep in real trains.

Cumberland County was named for William Augustus, Duke of Cumberland. When it was established in 1748, it was divided into six townships with Cohansey Bridge, now known as Bridgton, chosen as the seat of county government.
