Baranda's owner Danilo Montes' life changed at the age of 5 when his mother remarried and they moved from Honduras to the U.S. In 1982, he enrolled at UL to study horticulture. In the evenings he worked as a busboy at El Toritos. Sixteen years later, he became owner of Barandas Fresh Mexican Grill.
